Entertainment at the Superbowl
The Super Bowl went live on Sunday, February 11th. It had tons of entertainment and things to tune into. From the halftime show to the commercials, even to the romance between Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift, the Superbowl had its fun moments.
The most anticipated event is the historic Super Bowl halftime performance, which was showcased by none other than Usher this year. His setlist consisted of many well-known and well loved songs, like Caught Up, which he began the show with. Another song was Yeah, which concluded the show. He brought out many people on stage with him such as Alicia Keys, Lil Jon, Ludacris, and will.i.am.
There was much disappointment from people across America when they did not see Justin Bieber on stage with Usher to perform their hit song, Somebody to Love. In many fan predictions, they expected Bieber to come and perform but instead, there were videos of him sitting in the crowd, enjoying the show. Along with that, there was much discussion about Alicia Keys having voice cracks during her performances of Ain’t Got You and My Boo.
“The halftime show was really great. Usher is a deeply passionate artist, and you can tell he was dedicated to his performance,” said Deerfield Beach High School sophomore Lamar Dunn.
In other entertainment, there were some great advertisements. Some of the most loved ones include the BMW commercial with Christopher Walken and a special appearance of Usher, the Mountain Dew commercial with Aubrey Plaza, the Doritos Dinamita commercial with Jenna Ortega, and one that went viral on TikTok: the CeraVe ad, featuring Michael Cera, as a response to the running gag that Michael Cera created CeraVe.
Some trailers broadcasted during the Superbowl including Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds, The Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling, Wicked Part One starring pop sensation Ariana Grande and Cynthia Evio, and Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes starring Freya Allen and Dichen Lachman.
The Super Bowl had entertaining moments throughout the entire ensemble. The presence of Taylor Swift, Ice Spice, and Blake Lively, amongst others, added extra fun to the game. Every year at the Superbowl, there are new surprises and entertainment. Even for people who do not completely understand football or those who do not like it, the entertainment of it all makes the whole game fun to watch.
