The long awaited Pokemon Legends: Z-A
Everyone knows and loves one of the most famous anime out there, Pokémon. This anime captivated the hearts of many from the east to the west. What many do not know is that the Pokémon series originated as a video game. Now there are several Pokémon video games, and a new one is coming out for all the fans: Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
The trailer for the game came out on YouTube on February 27th, 2024. It garnered over 1 million views. They dropped it officially on February 27th because that is National Pokémon Day. Alongside the trailer, they dropped a music video of different Pokémon dancing called Pokémon Day 2024: Time to POKÉDANCE! This fun video garnered over seven million views and has been a popular dance on Instagram and TikTok.
“Pokémon Day was a good day for the community because this dance is fun to do and everyone was able to bond over it,” said Deerfield Beach High School senior Trevon Chisholm.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set to be released in 2025. It will be coming out exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. Although it is just coming out on Nintendo Switch, everyone will be able to access the game on release worldwide. It is a role-playing and adventure game and the developer for the game is Game Freak. They have made many Pokémon games in the past such as Pokémon Black & White, Pokémon Scarlet, and Pokémon Brilliant Diamond. They have even worked on a Mario game called Mario & Wario.
The video game is a part of the ninth generation of all the Pokémon games. Pokémon Legends: Z-A is not the first Legends game. It is the second, the first being Pokémon Legends: Arceus. It takes place in a fictional city called Lumiose City in the Kalos region. This area is based in Paris, France. That is part of the reason why at the end of the trailer it states that the city is under an “Urban Redevelopment Plan.” The city has been under construction just like how Paris was between the 1850s to 1870s. During this game, players will get to see it in fruition.
“I’m so excited to finally be able to play this game after wondering when they would rebuild the city. A lot of my friends play Pokémon as well so we’re going to play it right on release day,” said DBHS junior Isaiah Gowdy.
Pokémon fans are always sustained properly with many fun options for them to choose from. Whether they are video games or new anime, fans never fail to show up for their favorite franchise. Everyone will be awaiting its 2025 release and until then, everyone can dance to the POKÉDANCE.
