Boys’ basketball conditioning starts today, October 5^th at 3:00 p.m. on the track. To participate, athletes must have their physical packet fully completed and turned in.

Requesting a temporary I.D. badge from student affairs continuously will result in an obligation and disciplinary action for students as all 2026-2027 Buck Pride Lanyards should be around a student’s neck daily while on campus.

While on the school’s website to look at Spirit Week, buy your $65.00 Homecoming Dance tickets through the GoFans Website. Or bring exact cash to purchase them during A and/or B lunch tomorrow, October 6^th and Wednesday, October 7^th. Each student entering the gymnasium will need to have their own ticket and submit a field trip form to room 507.

The Heritage Showcase this week will be celebrating the past, present, and the future Hispanic Culture on Wednesday, October 7^th. Teachers are invited to celebrate with their students in the auditorium during sixth and/or eighth period. Space is limited for this event; so all teachers must R.S.V.P. by end of school today, October 5^th.

Prices for the 2027 Yearbook will go up in November, so purchase your copy for $75.00 before the end of this month on Friday, October 30^th for the lowest price in the county.

First Quarter Grades are closing this week, which means Friday, October 9^th will be a Broward County Early Release schedule. Followed by a teacher workday on Monday, October 12^th to allow first nine-week grades to be sent to B.C.P.S. officially ending the quarter.

Varsity Girls’ Volleyball will be traveling to Plantation today, October 5^th to take on South Planation in their gym at 4:30 p.m.

Girls’ Soccer tryouts will start on Tuesday, October 13^th at 3:00 p.m. and go until 4:00 p.m. All paperwork must be submitted to Coach Edouard before anyone enters the field.

Boys’ Soccer will do their tryouts an hour later on Tuesday, October 13^th at 4:00 p.m. and go until 5:00 p.m. Any questions on either soccer tryouts can be asked to Coach Edouard in room 238-A.

Coaches and advisors will receive an email from Mr. Radecki with a schedule for the Fall Sports picture day on Thursday, October 29^th. Photo passes will be given only to those listed so the correct players can know the time slot to be in the gym.

• Class Information

There will be two separate assemblies scheduled next week with Jostens on Tuesday, October 6^th. Juniors will meet during first period about their class ring options while seniors will go during second period to learn about Cap and Gown options.

There will be a Class of 2028 assembly Tuesday, October 6^th to discuss class rings. All juniors must attend their first period and wait for the announcement to release them to the auditorium. Eleventh graders, please bring a pen and/or pencil along with your cell phone. The presentation will be interactive.

There will be a Senior Assembly on Tuesday, October 6^th in the Auditorium during 2^nd Period. An announcement will be made to release seniors when Jostens has their setup their Cap and Gown display.

There are still 360 Class of 2027 members’ who haven’t claimed a photo spot for their Senior Portraits with CADY. There is only 91 days until the Monday, January 4^th deadline so do not delay as your image will not be in the yearbook or at the graduation without this process.

Underclassmen that did not purchase a package on or prior to September’s picture day, can now log in at cady.com/orderphotos to view and order the 2026-2027 school pictures today. No hardcopy proofs will be sent home.

• Guidance Information

The P.S.A.T. will be given to all 9^th and 10^th grade students next week on Wednesday, October 14^th. Deerfield will follow a modified bell schedule on that day as some seniors and all I.B. juniors will be testing. All room location lists are on the main mall trophy case, these are broken down into different colors by a student’s graduation class year.

FAFSA and/or Bright Futures Scholarship have opened their applications as of last week. So, Ms. Cruz is opening instructions on BRACE Place canvas page to help those seniors who have questions. She will also start workshops during A and/or B lunch this week along with offering one-on-one sessions for those that schedule them in advance on Remind.

All junior and senior students who want to take the ASVAB test must register in the School Counseling Office no later than Friday, October 23^rd. This assessment can help you make important life decisions and can be taken on Deerfield’s campus on Wednesday, October 28^th in the 240-Testing Center at 8:00 a.m.
