New addition to the Mario Brothers’ storyline
Nintendo and the Illumination Company are presenting the new Super Mario Bros movie which will be released on April 7th this year. This animated movie is one of the most anticipated films to watch.
The video game Super Mario has been out for many years and several generations have experienced it in many forms. Since then, the main characters Mario and Luigi have been instilled with different versions and ideas that create a lore for the audience to enjoy. Throughout the years, many movies and games have been produced to add to the storyline.
On April 7th , fans will see plenty of well-known actors featured in this movie such as Chris Pratt dubbing Mario, Jack Black as Bowser, and Charlie Day as Luigi. It is rated PG, family-friendly, and people with any level of Super Mario knowledge can watch it. Super Mario Bros is exceptionally inventive as it is a reboot of a classic as well.
Out of all the movies being announced this year, this is one of the most awaited films. Going back to the beginning of how everything first started with the Mario franchise in 1983, it continued to prosper and evolved from there with fans building up from generation to generation.
“I played Mario in the past and, I do play all types of video games. I also would like to go and watch this movie and enjoy it,” said DBHS senior Blake Martian.
After first appearing in the Donkey Kong game in 1981, the original character Mario made his debut in his own video game Super Mario Bros. From there, Mario’s popularity skyrocketed and rarely declined.
Since Mario and Luigi have been around for so long, they influence a lot of people’s childhoods. One of their most popular games is Mario Kart which is composed of cars racing through obstacles and different maps against each other.
“I play lots of video games and have played a Mario game before but, I don’t think I’ll watch the new movie. I’m not interested in it, but it would be a good movie to watch,” said DBHS sophomore Mehki Miller.
Many students have plenty of diverse opinions about the film. Although, the impact of Super Mario Bros is a constant opinion amongst the masses of people. Nostalgic shows and movies have changed the lives of many and help bring communities together. Ever since Mario and Luigi have been around, most of the world has been familiar with them. The new movie is something everyone is looking forward to.
