Nicki Minaj’s new album
Pink Friday 2, Nicki Minaj’s most recent album, has been released. The famous rapper disclosed that she began album development in 2020. There are 22 tracks on Pink Friday 2, which is a follow-up to her 2018 album, Queen. It is also a reference to her very own Pink Friday which came out in 2012. The new album features collaborations with J. Cole, Drake, Billie Eilish, and more.
If 22 tracks were not enough, Nicki Minaj then released a deluxe version of the album called Pink Friday 2 (Gag City Deluxe). It introduces four more songs on the track.
On March 1st, 2024, Nicki Minaj will launch her Pink Friday 2 World Tour by performing live at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California. On December 13th, there was a pre-sale on tickets exclusively for people who are Citi card members. Pre-sale events will take place every week leading up to the main on-sale, which starts at 9:00 a.m. local time on December 15th on her official website. Later on, further dates will be made public.
“I am a bit disappointed she is only having one show that’s in Orlando, Florida, but I’m excited I can go and travel to see her on tour,” said Deerfield Beach High School senior Oisa Mendez.
The marketing for this album has been outstanding. The rapper revealed a 12-month calendar that includes related dates and photos of Nicki Minaj from Pink Friday 2. There are also four different vinyl covers with two CDs. Nicki Minaj also collaborated with Roblox and has her very own experience on Roblox called Gag City promoting Pink Friday 2. Minaj’s fifth studio album, Pink Friday 2, was originally scheduled for release on November 17th but was rescheduled for December 8th, 2023, her 41st birthday.
If that wasn’t enough, fans are also anticipating the release of Pink Friday Nails, her very own nail line, on January 24. The announcement was before the release of her eagerly anticipated new album, Pink Friday 2, on November 24th. Including a wide range of colors and patterns, the colorful Pink Friday Nails line aims to be a celebration of uniqueness. With its designs, Minaj’s nail collection is ready to make a big impression in the cosmetics business.
“I am excited to try her nail press-ons. I enjoyed her album and hope I also love her nails,” said DBHS sophomore Fernanda Ferrufino.
Pink Friday 2 makes Nicki Minaj the first female rapper to have a No. 1 album in two distinct decades. Minaj achieved the most female rap album sales and R&B/hip-hop album streaming week of 2023 with 170 million album streams. On top of that, Pink Friday 2 has officially broken the record for the biggest debut for a female hip-hop album in Spotify history.
Nicki Minaj can confidently carry on her years-long chart dominance with her fifth full-length album. To many, she is the Queen of Rap, and it seems that her reign will not be ending any time soon.
