SZA’s upcoming deluxe album
Solána Imani Rowe, widely known as SZA, an American R&B and soul singer/songwriter, is releasing a brand-new version of her album SOS called SOS Deluxe Edition featuring songs like Good Days and Kill Bill along with 10 new songs that were added. The album originally had 23 songs and is well over an hour for listeners to enjoy. The incorporation now brings the hit album to 33 songs in total. In this album, the songs explain the highs and lows of being in love.
SZA’s music has always portrayed vulnerability through her lyrics but her journey with self-love has evolved since the release of SOS. The mood shifts throughout SOS as SZA sings about how crazy love can be with herself and others. This heartbreak album goes through the stages following a breakup. This is displayed clearly through the lyrics and its meanings.
In February 2022, SZA was the subject of a Billboard cover story that was released, and the publication named her Woman of The Year. While the talented singer teased the updated version of the SOS album in a sit-down interview, SZA confirmed that there will be a deluxe version of her hit 2022 album, SOS. Now, in 2023, we can see that SZA has stayed true to her word with the news of the familiar but new album SOS Deluxe Edition.
Not only did she confirm a deluxe version during the interview with Most Requested Live, but SZA also admitted that she recorded over 100 songs. That is a hefty amount for one artist to make. With the knowledge of the 100 songs, it is safe to say that SZA earned the title of 2023 Woman of the Year since her latest work became the number one spot for seven weeks and was certified platinum by the RIAA.
Originally SZA’s sophomore album SOS debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with 404.5 million streams of fans listening, which broke the record for the biggest streaming week ever for an R&B album and the second-largest streaming week for a female artist.
“I like her music. The way she sings it, she puts a lot of emotion in. You can tell that she is passionate about the things she is saying. Her lyrics are fire. Some of the things she talks about are just relatable. Some of my favorite songs from her are Broken Clocks, Open Arms, Good Days, and Supermodel,” said Deerfield Beach High School junior Vilea Jean Philippe.
Fans have been awaiting the arrival of SOS Deluxe Edition and they’ve been hyping it up for a while now. Many fans are expressing that they thought the deluxe album wouldn’t come for years because of the wait they had to endure for Ctrl Deluxe Edition in 2017, which was five years in the making. Still, fans stay on high alert for any new information regarding the release date and clips of songs to come.

While there is no confirmed release date for the album, SZA’s fans are at the edge of their seats for the new version. The album will be on all streaming platforms once it is released.
