Beyonce’s upcoming Renaissance World Tour

It’s been over a month since Beyoncé announced her world tour, and fans on social media went wild. People are expressing their excitement and their concerns about the steep ticket prices. The Renaissance World tour has the whole world talking.

Former Destiny’s Child singer, Beyoncé, announced her 8th world tour on February 1st via Instagram, and fans had strong opinions. While some were thrilled to hear the star was going on tour after being absent for almost seven years, others were

not amused. They were not too happy about Beyoncé’s Dubai show. Many were giving her the side eye after hearing she was paid $24 million for the show because they thought she did not need the money.

Others were disappointed to hear that she was performing in Dubai, as homosexuality is considered a crime in the country. People felt that Beyoncé let them down since she is widely appreciated by the LGBTQ+ community. But others loved the performance. They were amazed at how Beyoncé shined metaphorically and literally in her showstopping diamond-encrusted outfits.

Ever since Beyoncé broke the record for most Grammy wins, having 29 of them, ticket sales have skyrocketed.

“$1,000 for a ticket is outrageous, ludicrous, half-witted, preposterous, absurd, and moronic,” DBHS junior Kishana Jean-Louis said.

Although, besides having different opinions on the announcement, fans agree about the cost of tickets. The tickets to Beyoncé’s upcoming tour cost about $200 and up for nosebleeds. Her fans do not think it is a reasonable price, especially after some spent almost $1,000 on a ticket to the show in Dubai.

“Fans usually spend a lot of time planning and preparing for the shows they would like to go to the prices won’t affect how many people buy them because people who have the money will go, and people who don’t have the money but want to go would most likely come up with the money somehow,” DBHS junior Lailah Dorelus said.

The tour lasts from May 10th to September 27th, 2023. There will be a total of 57 shows in 40 cities in the Renaissance World Tour. To name a few in the U.S., Beyoncé will be performing at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, PA, Nissan Stadium in Nashville, TN, Soldier Field in Chicago, IL, Ford Field in Detroit, MI, and Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. For true country folk, Beyoncé will also be performing at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, LA.

Beyoncé will also be performing at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, FL, and Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Beach, FL.

It is safe to say that much of the buzz is about Queen B’s upcoming tour. Though, everyone will have plenty of time to prepare their wallets for the impact when tickets for these shows break their banks. After the recent buzz and controversy, fans and skeptics alike must wait and see how the tour goes.
