Should students participate in sports

The overall health of a child should be important to schools, parents, and the child themself, whether it is by taking social and emotional learning classes or making sure they are eating right knowing health is vital. One way someone can keep track of their health is by playing sports.

Participating in sports is an excellent way to keep active and stay fit but it’s a great way to grow one’s brain power as well. According to a paper written by Amir Ianis Khelil at the University of Rochester, “Studies have shown that exercise increases blood flow to the brain and helps the body build more connections between nerves, leading to increased concentration, enhanced memory, stimulated creativity, and better-developed problem-solving skills.” If by playing sports a student can excel academically it would be in the best interest of students to play sports.

Now of course a student should not play sports if they do not want to. However, not only is it a great way to excel academically but it’s also a great way to stay fit. Exercise is perfect for

balancing calories and strengthening the muscles and bones. Along with getting a chance to improve a tolerant head, they also get the chance to improve stamina in situations where it is crucial.

Another pro about participating in sports is that it is great for managing emotions and relieving stress. On the field, certain emotions may affect the performance of players and the total outcome of the game. According to an article reviewed and approved by Dan Brennan, MD, “Exercise causes your body to release endorphins, the chemicals in your brain that relieve pain and stress. Exercise causes your body to release endorphins, the chemicals in your brain that relieve pain and stress.” It is no mystery that students deal with stress from school, but having a healthy way to relieve that stress is excellent.

Overall, students should participate in sports. Though it is a personal choice, sports don’t have to be a commitment for longer than a couple of weeks. The option should be thought of for the benefit of increasing the longevity of strength, health, and mental health.
