Deerfield Bucks look to start off their season with a win against Miami Edison

The TRU Prep Academy Saints played against the Beach Boys on Thursday, August 19 in a pre-season game, where Deerfield won 23-7. The Bucks played outstanding defense in the game, including an interception by senior safety Stephen Landers, and a safety forced by the Beach Boys’ defensive line.
Sophomore quarterback Michael Merdinger had an impressive throw to wide receiver and Youngstown State commit, Joseph Kennerly, to get Deerfield set up at the two-yard line. The Bucks capped off the drive the very next play, going back to Kennerly for the touchdown.
Class of 2022 running back, Jaziun Patterson, who committed to the University of Iowa, had a solid game, including an 18-yard catch-and-run.
The Red Raiders are also playing in their first game of the season. As they look to give Deerfield their first loss of the season, the Bucks won’t back down. Both teams are going to fight until there are zeros on the clock.
