Saturday Tutoring at Deerfield
Saturday school has been offered to Deerfield Beach High students this year and is still ongoing. The purpose of Saturday school is to give students more time to study, practice their classwork, and master new skills outside of school hours with a tutor and personal space for no cost. This is an alternative to studying courses that are challenging to understand alone or spending hundreds of dollars at a private tutoring company.
Per Broward County Public Schools (BCPS), Deerfield Beach High School offers free tutoring every Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for Geometry in room 910, Biology in room 907, and ELA Test Prep/Credit Recovery in room 913. Geometry and Biology credits are crucial for passing high school and will both have an end-of-course (EOC) exam
As tutors aid students with their work while also giving them the freedom to help themselves, it proposes a safe environment for teens to learn without any pressure. Tutoring strives to
implement class curriculum and give individual study time to help students learn and solve problems on their own, becoming independent pupils. With the individual attention that students are given, it stimulates the opposite of a crowded classroom all the while helping students who struggle to keep up, as well as those who are not challenged enough.
This incentive will end on April 29th; there is more than enough time left to register for Saturday school. If weekend tutoring is not convenient for any reason, DBHS also offers after-school tutoring every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. Although, during free time outside of school, Broward Remote Instructional Assistant (BRIA) is also available on Canvas or the Clever launchpad.
