Thrifting a New Future

Comments Off on Thrifting a New Future

As thrift stores are becoming more and more popular, our carbon footprint lessens. Buying clothes second hand is an amazing way to give old clothes a new home.

At second hand stores you can buy an entire wardrobe for less than 20 dollars depending on the place. You can find amazing pieces, it’s just a matter of taking the time to look through the racks. I would say that 90 percent of my own personal wardrobe is thrifted. Some of my personal favorites I’ve found are; unique jackets, trench coats, slacks, Victorian button ups, knitted sweaters, and tons of jeans.

You could buy things that you wouldn’t originally think would look good, but once you style them, it’s perfect. You’ll find pieces that are unique and the best part is that no one else would have them.

You can get creative and transform pieces by upcycling. Jeans are the most common thing I upcycle, you can use the denim for patches, distressing the jeans for the ripped jeans look, or even adding things on to them, there are endless possibilities to upcycling.
