Diving into the 2023-24 season

Deerfield Beach High School’s swim team is diving into a new season, and they’re determined to make a splash. The Bucks swim team has had two swim meets so far with multiple swimmers winning and placing well in their races. Although the real competition doesn’t start until this fall season. This year, the swim team embodies a brand-new multitude of motivated and talented swimmers.

The team is looking forward to the rest of the season with the expectations of working on their personal records as well as team records but most importantly, their main goal is to enjoy their time doing what they love.

“The team goal is to improve with every practice, every swim meet, and every day… but it’s also important to enjoy these moments with everyone around us,” said DBHS senior swimmer Meryem Demircan.

Not only does the team want to succeed and enjoy this season, but they also want to see the rest of the DBHS teams enjoy their seasons as well.

‘’In general, I don’t have many expectations for the season other than hoping everyone in Broward County participating has fun… My teammates as well as the coaches bring positive vibes to the team which makes doing the sport I love, all the more enjoyable,” said Demircan.

The Deerfield Beach High School’s swim team is ecstatic to continue their streak starting with the two meets they excelled in. Their next swim meet starts at 4:00 p.m. on September 2nd at Nova High School, which can be found in the schedule on MaxPreps. Deerfield Beach High School encourages students, parents, and fans to come out and support the swim team at the upcoming meets throughout the season. The swimmers as well as the coaches train tirelessly to be the best they can be, and the applause and cheers of encouragement could make all the difference.
