Spring games have arrived
Preparing for the 2022-2023 season, the Deerfield Beach High football team is getting started with spring football. Every year, the team practices throughout the spring and summer before the next season. To get the players back to playing games and get their bodies back into shape the team plays a series of mini games to prepare.
On Thursday, May 19th, 2022, the Bucks play a Scarlet vs Gold game, where they split the teams up to scrimmage against each other and test their skills. This game will be played at Westside Park at 6:00 P.M. with no charge to watch.
On Thursday, May 26th, 2022, the Bucks will play the Wall of Fame Game against Boyd Anderson High. The game will be held at Butler Stadium at Deerfield Beach High at 7:00 P.M.
After going 9-3 in the 2021 season, Deerfield lost many players due to players graduating or transferring. Spring ball is very important, not only to build skills but to develop team chemistry. Other players from all around the country are coming in to help the Bucks maintain the successful football program.
“We have many players coming in that will make a big impact on our team,” sophomore defensive end Trevon Chisholm said. “It should be a fun season for us.”
The Bucks have a lot to prove after their 27-14 loss to Palmetto High School in the 2021 playoffs. The Bucks are also being led by the new Head Coach Tramain Hall. So with a brand new coaching staff and new faces coming into play, Deerfield has a shot to exceed expectations in the upcoming season.
