Is Artificial Intelligence a threat for Humankind ?

Over time, artificial intelligence (AI) has become quite popular amongst the crowd for simplistic tasks. Yet at the same time, the worry in the back of everyone’s head is starting to rise higher than ever. The rapid advancement of AI has created a fear that it will one day develop uncontrollably, leading it to take over the planet and wipe out humans if they think humans pose as a threat to their goals.

One argument against the existence of such an unstoppable, ever-increasing intelligence is that it would have to be able to accurately anticipate the future.

“I believe that AI would be able to predict stuff from the future nowadays everything is advancing very quickly than ever before,” said junior Blancaestela Rivera.

“I sometimes fear that this very advanced technology can cause such huge chaos because of the shift of human experience,” said Freshmen Sardis Campodonico.

Artificial intelligence has several negative consequences for humanity, including job loss and unemployment. People have lost occupations and employment possibilities due to being replaced by a bucket of bolts. Tasks that many got too lazy for have now slowly started to have the spots filled up.

“Job wages are barely enough for a person because of the constant bills with more AI it would raise the amount of unemployment’s.”, said Deerfield Beach High student Daniel Sasson.

Given our limited understanding of the nature of the world and the potential of AI, it may be prudent to play it safe. AI will have a significant impact on human society if there is no singularity. With much more to do to ensure that AI benefits humankind rather than pose a threat, the road is a long, hopefully bright one.
