ID Badge

In continuous efforts to ensure the safety and security of all students, staff and visitors at Deerfield Beach High School, everyone on campus will be required to follow the Identification Badge Policy and  Procedures. Students and Staff are to wear 2023-2024 Buck Pride identification badges at all times while on campus or while attending a school-sponsored event.


Guidelines and Procedures


I.D. BADGES:

• Must be visible and not in book bags, pockets, or under clothing.
• Cannot be altered in any way, by use of stickers, markings, or drawings.
• Shall not be duplicated.
• Must be replaced immediately when lost, damaged beyond recognition, or unavailable during the school day.

• Students are responsible for their I.D. badges. A student who has lost their identification card should apply for a replacement in Student Affairs.

• Anyone without an I.D. badge may be stopped and questioned as to their purpose.

• A student must surrender their I.D. badge to any staff member upon the staff member’s request.

• Students will not have any pass privileges (i.e. media center, front office, etc.) if they do not have an I.D. badge.

• Student I.D. badges are used for each student receiving a meal as they proceed through the breakfast/lunch line.

• Any student with unauthorized possession of an I.D. card not belonging to them will be subject to disciplinary action.

Consequences


The first I.D. badge and lanyard are issued to all students free of charge.

Replacement ID badges will be:

•  $2.00 for the first permanent replacement

•  $5.00 for each additional replacement

*entered as a student obligation

Students found not wearing I.D.’s will be subject to the following consequences:

1st Offense | Verbal Warning

Temporary I.D. will be issued and Parent Notification

2nd Offense | Parent Notification

Replacement I.D. issued with a student obligation entered

3rd Offense | Administrative Referral

Replacement I.D. issued with a student obligation entered and progressive discipline for disobedience/insubordination/defiance through administrative referral process
