The Communications/Broadcast Arts Program focuses on the many methods employed in the communication of ideas including text, graphics, audio and video. Students enjoy the use of a professional on-campus television studio, state of the art recording studios, remote cameras, nonlinear video editing, digital video and still cameras, and a comprehensive computer graphics and web design lab to complete academic and extracurricular projects. Students interested in the business of conveying information will find this communication program an excellent choice.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) Program is an accelerated four-year liberal arts curriculum designed to meet the needs of the highly motivated and academically talented student. The IB Program is intensive, offering an accelerated curriculum for ninth and tenth grade students to prepare them for the rigors of the IB Program in the eleventh and twelfth grades. Florida IB diploma recipients are eligible for the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship and are often admitted as sophomores into the Florida university system, as well as other internationally recognized universities.

This four-year program is designed for students interested in teaching. Deerfield Beach High School’s Urban Teacher & Leadership Academy combines rigorous academics, field experience at elementary schools, and leadership skills to prepare students for future careers in teaching. Students are given actual “hands-on” opportunities to teach primary or secondary school students under the leadership of experienced teachers. Students will have an opportunity for scholarships when involved in the professional organization Future Educators Association.
