The Food and Nutrition Services Department is committed to providing our students with well-balanced nutritious meals to support student achievement.  Our focus is to aid student learning by educating and serving meals that reinforce lifelong healthy lifestyles.  We encourage our students to POWER-UP with school breakfast, at no charge for all students, and school lunch which provides students the energy they need to learn and grow.
 
Our Food and Nutrition Services Cafeteria offers a variety and well-balanced nutritious meals at a low cost. School lunches provide an assortment of foods including daily entree salads and fresh fruit.  School meals are healthy, meeting the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. By choosing lunch at school, students learn to make healthy choices, reinforcing nutrition education taught in the classroom. Delicious breakfasts are served daily in all Broward County Public schools.

Meal Procedures


Broward County Public Schools Food and Nutrition Services offers FREE breakfast and lunch meals for all BCPS students every school day at Deerfield Beach High. The monthly menus are posted using the Meal Viewer application link.

Breakfast is served starting promptly at 7:10 a.m. To receive the breakfast students will enter their student number.

Lunch is 30 minute determined by a students 3rd period (Scarlet Day Bell Schedule) and 7th period (Gold Day Bell Schedule) classes.

Students will not be allowed in the building to eat lunch with staff or to eat in corridors or where there is no supervision.

Students need healthy meals to learn. Broward County Public Schools’ Food and Nutrition Services Department will provide all students with free breakfast and lunch under the Universal Free Breakfast and Universal Free Lunch Program Pilot for the 2023-2024 school year.  

As this is a Program Pilot, it is vital that households continue to apply for free meals or reduced which may qualify a student for additional programs and secure the Universal Free Lunch Program Pilot for the next school year. Parents, Guardians and Caregivers are encouraged to create an account for their student through My School Bucks at www.myschoolbucks.com for a la carte items.


Online Payment


Broward County Public Schools system allows parents to pay for their child’s meals online as well as view their account balance and what their child has purchased. Parents will need their child’s FSI number to access the information. The MCS system will automatically generate the student’s “NEW” pin/meal number. Check Deadline

NO CHECKS ACCEPTED FOR MEAL SERVICES AFTER MAY 3, 2024

In accordance with year-end procedures, and to ensure that all checks received by the District have adequate time to be processed by the bank prior to the end of the 2023–2024 school year, checks will not be accepted as payment for meal services after Friday, May 3, 2024. However, this does not affect on-line payment access at myschoolbucks.com.
