DBHS alumni, get a head start by entering in Dual Enrollment at Broward College. The program gives students an opportunity to participate in classes and experience college courses without having to pay any application, tuition, laboratory, OR textbooks fees. The platform is recommended for the junior and sophomore class.
Dual Enrollment is an accelerated program that allows eligible public/charter, private and home secondary undergraduates to take postsecondary coursework and simultaneously earn both high school and college credits. With the program, pupils don’t have to worry about payments of applications fees, tuition and laboratory fees. Undergraduates have an opportunity to be on the Broward College campus and experience hands-on experience with college classes, assignments, and projects. If students apply to be in dual enrollment they have the opportunity to know what they want to major in, get accustomed to college work and takes classes that are not offered in their high school.
The eligibility requirements are that students must:
- Maintain a college GPA of 2.0 or greater.
- Maintain a 3.0 unweighted GPA in high school academic work
- Earn a grade of “C” or better in each college-level course
- Place a college level on placement test (PERT, ACT or SAT) in all areas – English, Reading, and Math
