The biggest problem for a teenage has always been having nothing to do for summer vacation as well as having no money. Well thanks to the Neighborhood Initiative Summer Job Program, that problem has been solved. The summer program gives opportunities for employment and the chance to mentor at-risk youth between the ages 13-15 years old.
For those who are interested in joining, applicants must be between the ages of 13-15 years and must have letter of recommendation from guidance Counselor, teacher, principal, or other professionals. Remember the letter must state that the applicant must be considered an at risk youth and the reason why the applicant should be considered for employment. The applicant must be a city of Deerfield resident with two proofs of residency. And finally a birth certificate is required for proof of age.
All applications available until Friday May 12th at the Oveta McKeithen Recreational Complex, (445 SW 2nd St), between 9:00am -9:00pm.
Applicants will be interviewed on either May 16th or May 17th between 4:00pm through 7:00pm. All applicants are required to dress professionally. Interviews will be held on the secondfloor of the Concession Stand Building at Oveta McKeithen Recreational Complex (151 SW 3rd ave).
