When students at Deerfield Beach High School join the Communication Broadcasting and Arts (CBA) program they are being given a variety of opportunities to expand their knowledge of the arts including journalism, graphics, audio, and video. Along with that, students are given the chance to participate in groups like NTHS (National Technical Honor Society), FSPA (Florida Scholastic Press Association) and most importantly, Quill and Scroll.
Quill and Scroll is an international honorary society for high school journalists. Organized in 1926, Quill and Scroll recognizes students with remarkable writing skills and journalistic ideas. The society aims to encourage and recognize individual student achievement in journalism and academics.
Ms. Peterson sponsors this club along with Q&S President, Maria Campos and Vice-President, Enijdna VanBokkelen. Students that qualify for membership in Quill and Scroll are usually recognized in their sophomore year for their academic success. Students can still join junior and senior year.
The next induction will take place on May 5th in room 263. For any further questions, see Ms. Peterson.
