For all the ninth grade students that have worked hard to achieve academic excellence, Deerfield Beach High School will be holding the annual 9th Grade Academic Award Ceremony. The ceremony is held to award students with a 3.0 GPA or higher and to honor each of them for the hard work that they have done. It will be held in the auditorium on Thursday, February 23rd.
The purpose of this program is to recognize individual students who have made extraordinary contributions to the school. Those that are recognized in this exhibit have attributes that lead to academic and personal success, showing a great start of their high school career. They work conscientiously and with determination; they think creatively, and with insight. These students possess qualities that include leadership, cooperation, community spirit, and overall buck pride. These students bring the school a commitment to being his or her personal best that stands as an example to all.
The assembly is not only about their accomplishments. DBHS is holding this assembly to celebrate the underlying values that the honorees exemplify, values like intelligence, imagination, discipline, and a love of learning. Awards given to students will be from Ms. Thompson, Mr. Box, and Mr. Roberson.
