One blood, One community

No matter what one’s situation may be, there are other people in our community that need help. Deerfield Beach High School will contribute to the community on Wednesday, February 22nd where students will be able to assist out those in need by donating blood. The sponsor of the blood drive, Oneblood Organization along with the senior class of 2017, will be at the school’s Gym ready for donations from 7:45am through 2:00pm.

Oneblood is a Florida based organization dedicated to save people’s lives. Its mission is to enhance the well being of others through their blood and stem products and scientific research. By providing world-class transfusions, technology and research, this organization has earned a spot on the top five systems in the world.

For those who would like to become donors, there are some requirements. Students under 16 years old need a consent form signed from a parent or guardian and valid identification. Anybody 17 years old or older doesn’t need a form but need identification in order to donate. All donors will receive free blankets, food and refreshments as well as a wellness check up for free. For those interested, see the senior class sponsor Mr. Box in the guidance office.
