The time-honored practice where recruits make celebratory announcements has become a holiday of sorts for fans of high school sports. Around the nation on Wednesday, February 1st many Class of 2017 members will put pen to paper to commit the next four years to the collegiate level. Deerfield Beach High School is no different with at least ten students receiving their next outcomes to being a successful athlete.
National Signing Day, usually the first Wednesday in February, allows Deerfield to showcase the seniors who have chosen their university for the next couple of years. In the gym, select members will sign a binding National Letter of Intent for a college of their choosing. Each school must be a member of the United States National Collegiate Athletic Association to partake in this annual ceremony.
Deerfield Beach staff has invited family and friends to witness this once in a lifetime moment on campus. As for Brion Byrd(Virginia Union University), Cortez Grace(Virginia Union University), Nicholas Holm(Florida Institute of Technology), Daewood Davis (University of Oregon), Branden Bailey(North Carolina Central University), Kobe Green(University of Buffalo), Jose Jeanty(North Carolina Central University), Lamonte McDougle (West Virginia University), Edline Dorvil (Albany State University) and Jamari Rouse (Bowling Green State University) this has been only a dream until 10am on Wednesday.
