Every year Deerfield Beach High School hosts an open house where all soon-to-be-freshman’s can come in and take a look at all the great things DBHS has to offer. Open house this year is Tuesday, January 17th. This event begins at 7 o’clock at night, and usually runs for about an hour and half or so.
The special night is meant mostly for 8th graders who are looking at schools to decide where they want to attend in the next level of their education. The 8th graders will have to chance to go through each magnet program, club, and sports to get as much information as they need to decide on a high school. There will teachers, as well as other staff members, and also students to help or answer any questions the parents or 8th graders may have.
Parents and students will first meet with the schools staff members in the auditorium for an assembly and a general introduction of the school. Then each magnet program, Communications/Broadcast Arts Program (CBA)/International Baccalaureate Program (IB)/Urban Teaching Academy Program (UTAP), will divide and go into their areas of the school and properly introduce their own magnet and what they each have to offer.
