The Communication Broadcast Arts Magnet Program at Deerfield Beach High School offers membership to join the Florida Scholastic Press Association. Deerfield students participate by competing in different types of writing. For nationals, FSPA State Convention will take place at Orlando, Florida from Thursday, April 27th to Saturday, April 29th in 2017.
This year, for FSPA Districts, participants went to Nova Southeastern University on Friday, October 22, 2016. Members hope that those who couldn’t attend districts to attend nationals for an exciting experience. This three-day two-night road trip will be filled with workshops where students will learn how to analyze movies, create short films and can even be taught from other FSPA members who will be competing to win awards for their school.
This organization promotes scholastic journalism. FSPA was founded in 1946. It has compromised more than 300 student applications, online terms and broadcast programs throughout the state. The main goal for the creation of this organization is to educate, train and support scholastic journalists and their advisers.
Forms for the field trip will be released shorty after Christmas break is over. If there is any questions or concerns regarding the trip see Ms. Peterson in room 263.
