What’s that in the sky?

Ever wonder why these tiny little planes keep constantly flying around the school? The Deerfield Beach High Drone Club are slowly growing and looking for new members to join. They meet every Thursday in room 912 from 2:45 pm – 4:45 pm with the exception of their auxiliary meeting Mondays in their secret drone lab. Either Mr. Ryan or Ms. Caputo will be there leading the club. Participating in this club will give students access to aerial drones and underwater drones plus be taught how to maneuver them through obstacles and race against one another.

The DBHS Drone Club are looking forward to expanding their club and hoping to find a good racer to compete in an upcoming tournament. This tournament will be held at Florida Atlantic University’s tech runway in an engineering incubator. In the competition there will be many challenges such as flying through obstacles, taking pictures with drones and sending them to a receiver and flying drones blindfolded. After this tournament the club is hoping to join a drone racing league and race other school in the county. For any other question ask the clubs head sponsor Ms. Caputo in the IB Office
