The Deerfield Beach Bucks football team won a close game against the defending 8A state champions of Flanagan High School. The game on Friday, November 18th featured a defensive battle with the final score ending at 10-7 in favor of Deerfield Beach. In the 4th Quarter of the game, five star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy entered the game on defense, intercepted a pass and took it to the end zone for a touchdown to extend the bucks lead to 10-0 and give the Bucks momentum. Kobe Green intercepted another pass in the final minute to seal the victory for Deerfield. The Bucks will look to build upon their previous two playoff victories.
The Eagles of Atlantic High are also coming off an impressive also as they defeated Palm Beach Gardens 33-21 on Friday, November 18th. Atlantic took a commanding lead heading into halftime 27-0. Key performers for the Eagles were Marquis Waters, a Duke commit, and Debo Swint, a speedy running back. The Eagles improved their record to 9-3 and are now on a 3 game winning streak.
Deerfield will host the regional final against Atlantic High this Friday, November 25th at 7:30 P.M. The winner of this contest will then host a state semifinal against the winner of Region 4, which will come down to Miami Southridge and Coral Gables. This is a must win for the Bucks as they continue to chase their state title aspirations.
