Next week in Broward County Public Schools there will be only three days of school for students. On Tuesday, November 8th and Friday, November 11th there will be no school. As schools are location for Americans to vote for the next president, called Election Day, so it will be a Teacher Planning day on the 8th while there is a National Holiday the same week; the 11th is Veterans Day.
Election Day comes around every once in four years. It’s the one time we as United States citizens can vote on who will think is the best choice for the next four years as president as well as other governors and laws to pass. Planning on voting then you need to be 18 years old, and be a citizen and proved valid ID at the polls. Polls can be found at certain school so check ahead before going to vote if that is the local voting location on Division of Elections website.
Veteran’s Day is held each year on November 11th. Veterans Day is when the entire nation honors living military veterans for their service in the United States armed forces. On Veteran’s Day there is a national ceremony that is held at 11 a.m. They have the tomb of unknowns that continues into the memorial Amphitheater that finishes off with the parade of colors.
