Deerfield Beach High School will be collecting donations for the victims who were impacted by Hurricane Matthew. The hurricane, that was active from September 28th through October 10th, caused devastation to the Caribbean islands but overall caused significant damage to Haiti. Matthew, a category 4 hurricane when it hit Haiti, caused hundreds of deaths and injuries.
This is why DBHS will be having the Hurricane Matthew Haiti Relief Drive. Donation items that are needed are towels, medicine, diapers, cleaning wipes, and batteries. The donations for the victims will be divided among organizations such as the Haitian American Nurse Association and Food For The Poor. These donations will go directly to the victims.
To give donations contact Ms. Delance via Miderland.delance@browardschools.com. Students show Buck pride and support for the Haitian community to help them overcome the disaster Hurricane Matthew caused. Donations can be given now and all the way throughout the end of this year. Donating can help better the lives of many that were impacted by the natural disaster. Donating supplies may even save lives.
