Broward County Public Schools have adjusted schedules for the end of the first nine weeks. As Thursday, October 27th is an Early Release Day throughout the county to help teachers close out grades. These ER days are like any other school day in Broward County though a shortened with a few hours taken out. As High Schools usually go 2:30 in the afternoon, but on Early Release Days students go to school from 7:30am to 12:00pm. These bell schedules are posted on this website.

The following day Friday, October 28th is a Teacher Planning day; dedicated to teachers getting their first nine weeks grades finished up. Plus staff may use this day to help get organized and plan for second nine weeks of classes. So Deerfield Beach High’s students are given these days are off so teachers can have the appropriate time to plan.

All athletes, club members, or any student participating in any after school activities, on Thursday October 27th, all activities and practices should be cancelled due to the early release. Though this may not apply to every student, so it is advised for students to check with their team’s coach or club sponsor to find out if they will proceed with practice or meetings that day.
