Last year, the varsity football team clashed with Taravella for the Bucks homecoming game and came out victorious with a score of 42-0. This year’s team will attempt to repeat the same success Deerfield Beach High experienced last year by pulling out a victory when the team squares off with Monarch High School on Friday, October 21st at Butler Stadium for the homecoming game.
For those who cannot leave campus but want to attend the big game, Student Government Association is holding a tailgate for all students to come enjoy food and games after school. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m and the “Beach Boys” are expected to win over the Knights. Monarch however, will look to build on their 21-20 win over Coral Springs High last week.
The Bucks defense will look to shutout the Knights offense, led by key seniors Deslin Alexandre, Brion Byrd and Kobe Green. The offense will also look to build upon its success this season throwing the ball as well as running it. Seniors Jerry Jeudy, Leroy Henley, Jose Jeanty, and Nick Holm will lead the offense against the Knights. The DBHS offense is not alone as the defense has only allowed a combined 9 points in the teams last 3 matchups.
All current and graduated students are encouraged to show their Buck Pride by wearing their Scarlet and Gold Friday, October 21st into Butler Stadium. The Mighty Bucks want to see the stands full for their big homecoming.
