After a long season of hard work and dedication the Deerfield Beach High School baseball team held a banquet in order recognize key players that helped guide the team to victory in their spring season. The banquet took place at Galuppi’s restaurant in the Pompano Beach, Thursday, May 12th. Many people attended the event and enjoyed the buffet of food and magazine booklets administered to guest acknowledging the 2015-2016 players.
During this event several awards were given such as Most Valuable Player, Rafael Santos and the decision of next years Team Captain, Keshawn Harris. The team also commemorated coaches, including their deceased Coach, Chris Williams who was a fellow DBHS alumni. The ceremony was held in his honor.
The event was organized by the DBHS Booster Club, who have coordinated fundraising events throughout the year in order to raise money for next years team. Parents that are involved in the club were rewarded with gift baskets and goodies for all the blood, sweat and, tears.
The team hopes to continue their hard work next school year with the addition of new players and new goals.
