Speed – for some it thrills and for some it kills. This makes it important for new drivers to be cautious on the road. This is why Broward County is offering Driver’s Education classes to students for free. Registration of these classes for students opens on Wednesday, June 1st on Virtual Counselor starting at 8 a.m. The course gives students the opportunity to learn the basics of how to drive a car and the responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel. In the course, participants will be given the chance to complete a drug and alcohol class requirement, receive a restricted or operator driver’s license, ½ of an elective credit and get a certificate that may discount future car insurance.
There are 16 different locations throughout Broward County to register at. Sessions A/B begins on Monday, June 13th to Friday, July 1st; Sessions C/D begins Tuesday, July 5th to Friday, July 22nd. Classes take place on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to Noon or Noon to 4 p.m. Students must be at least 15 years of age or older to participate.
