The National Honor Society is an organization established to recognize outstanding high school students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Deerfield Beach High school’s club advisor, Ms. Corbin, sends letters to students who have a GPA of 3.0 or above and are accepted into NHS during their sophomore year. During their two years of membership, students are required to attain a certain amount of hours.
Deerfield Beach High School’s NHS meets every other Tuesday and is also a volunteer program. Students who need help in subjects such as math, English, and science can go to portable 12 on Wednesdays.
The club will also host a dance marathon on Thursday, April 21st to help raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and the Gainesville Hospital located near the University of Florida, along with other types of fundraisers throughout the school year.
