“Those who don’t know history are destined to repeat it.”–Edmund Burke. The Historical Society of Deerfield Beach was created to identify and preserve the major historical sites throughout the city. Deerfield Beach High School has created it’s own Historical Society club, in order to help the official club of the city. DBHS’ club meets on Thursdays in room 519, with sponsor Ms. Santy, while the official society is located at the James D and Alice Butler house.
Deerfield students can join the club to learn about the past of Deerfield Beach High School and the city, as well as gain knowledge on how the club and community keep up with the environment everyday. The club host tours of the J.D and Alice butler home every Saturday located at, 380 East Hillsboro Blvd.
For more information on what the Historical Society has to offer, contact Ms. Santy, or the club Vice-President, Jenna Cox.
