The Deerfield Beach Bucks faced off against the Pompano Beach Golden Tornadoes in the Alice Butler pool in what was a dreadful home loss by the score of 16-8. On Tuesday, March 8th, the Golden Tornadoes traveled to Deerfield for an important district bout. Pompano came ready to play as their speedy offense proved too much for Deerfield. However, not all was bad for Deerfield in this loss as some athletes did shine within the game. Such players were: Sophomores Mathew Blade and Junior Camryn Slier with 3 goals each and senior goalie Joseph Melazzi , stopping a season high 16 shots.

The Bucks are currently 2-4 this season with all games being district match ups. In order to progress in the rankings, the boys will have to win their last few district games.

The next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th. It will be a district match up against Stoneman Douglas as well as senior night for Deerfield. In a near must win situation, the seniors must bring their A-game in order to secure a higher tier seed for districts. Be sure to show the senior athletes Deerfield’s love, appreciation, and support for what they have done.
