The Florida Standards Assesments writing test is finally here, and Deerfield Beach High was no exception from the state-wide test that took over the week. The FSA began on Tuesday, March 1st, with only freshmen and continued to Wednesday March 2nd with sophomores. The Professional Study Day hosted select juniors who are missing scores to retake the writing test on Thursday March 3rd.
The FSA is an important state-wide writing test designed to see how close students are to college readiness. This is a new form of writing test to phase out the FCAT. This new computer based test is designed so students are able to read material from an article and contribute it into writing that is in the students’ own words.
The retakes are starting Friday, March 4th for students that missed the test. The lists of names for retakes plus room number are listed on the glass doors of the trophy case the main mall.
