An Extra Ticket Anyone?

For those who have yet to tangle with it, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid application can be a bit tricky. That’s why on Tuesday, March 1st Financial Aid Advisors from Florida Atlantic University will be at Deerfield Beach High School from 2:30pm to 5:00pm. The Advisors will be located in the computer lab of room 153 to give students the assistance they need to complete the application.

If attending the event, Students are required to bring their Federal Student Aid ID (create one at https://fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index/htm) along with a few other key items. Items include student and parent’s social security number, driver’s license, and/or alien registration card. Students can bring their parent or guardian to the lab, along with the required information from both parties. Other necessities include the student’s income tax returns (if any), W-2 and 1099 forms for the previous year, as well as the parent’s income tax returns, W-2 and 1040 forms for the previous year (if the 2015 returns have yet to be filed, bring the returns for 2014).

The DBHS BRACE Office will be hosting the event, and as an incentive to the senior class, those who attend will be entered into a raffle. The raffle will allow students the opportunity to earn an extra graduation ticket. The lab is completely free and another way of entering the raffle will be to show Ms. Davis, the BRACE Advisor, the students FAFSA confirmation page before the event starts.
