The Deerfield Beach High School Boys Water Polo team had its first real taste of what district games will be like this year as the Bucks hosted against Westminster. Westminster dominated the Bucks on Tuesday, February 16th by a score of 19-4 with their starting seven scoring 15 of their goals. However, the Bucks did have some highlights. Tenth grader Mathew Blade lead the scoring with two goals and fellow sophomore Camryn Slyer was the lead shot taker of the game. Despite the score, senior Joey Melazzi was able to block 12 shots and set up 2 of the Bucks’ goals. The boys are looking to bounce back from this loss on Tuesday, March 1st, against Northeast. This game will be home, here in the Alice Butler pool. The game will start at 7:30pm. Be sure to come out and support the Bucks water polo team! #H20polo
