Calling all Bucks who still need service hours .The city of Coconut Creek Parks and Recreation Department, and Andrew Saint-Remy, is offering high school students service hours to play chess. This is a welcoming opportunity for chess players, and those who are willing to learn. The Department has been running this opportunity through an elementary program, however they will begin another similar program for adults. The expanding platform will require more students and adults who wish to volunteer their time to play chess. Chess is a board game of skills for two players, each player begins the game with sixteen pieces that are moved and used to capture opposing pieces according to precise rules. The goal of the game is to put the opponent’s king under direct attack that makes escape is impossible which refers to the term checkmate. There are current and upcoming chess programs for elementary students, high school students, and adults. Students who partake in the event will earn guaranteed service hours by just playing the board game. For any questions contact Andrew Saint-Remy at (954)-956-1580 or visit them at 4455 Sol Press Boulevard Coconut Creek, FL.
