Following Interests In Science

Deerfield Beach High School provides an abundant amount of extracurricular activities. There are plenty of clubs that share interests with students. There are also some that encourage students to pursue a path in certain subjects or topics. One of them is S.E.C.M.E.

S.E.C.M.E. stands for Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering. This club targets students that have an interest in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics. Students can participate in activities and competitions that encourage and strengthen their skills. A student has a chance of earning a four-year scholarship worth $12,000 for FAU if involved in the club for a minimum length of three years.

Mr. Smith and Mr. DeLance instruct S.E.C.M.E. and it runs Monday through Wednesday in room 537, starting at 2:30 and ending at 5:00.
