School will be let out at 12:00 due to early release on Thursday January 7th. Early releases allow schools across Broward to be let out early, compared to Professional Study Days, where only high schools end early. The early release will mark the ending of the first semester and second quarter. The following day, Friday January 8th, there will be no school due to employee planning, as grades will be put into the grade book. School will be back in session as of Monday January 11th, which will start the third quarter and second semester. The nine weeks were extended until after winter break, an unusual feat, because in past school years, the second quarter has always ended before the winter break started. The quarter has been hectic for the students as well as the teachers, due to the midterm exams. As is expected, the second semester will be highly anticipated, as it means the school year is nearing its end, as well as more breaks for students as well as staff.
