The District’s Emergency Management Unit will continue to monitor Tropical Storm Erika through the weekend. As of Friday, August 28, 2015 the current forecast still indicates that Broward County may feel the effects of this storm as early as Sunday morning. As the forecast is updated, we should see a more definitive course and timeframe for the storm, including expected intensity.
As a precautionary measure, the District is in the process of completing pre-storm preparations.
Please note: No decisions have been made at this time regarding possible school closures. The District will continue to work closely with the County’s Emergency Operations Center for the latest information on the track of the storm.
We will continue to keep our students, parents and employees updated with the latest information, as it becomes available. Over the weekend, you can:
- check the District’s website, browardschools.com;
- follow the District’s social media channels;
- call the District’s Information Line at (754) 321-0321;
