The Office of Parent Engagement, in collaboration with the Parent/Community Involvement Task Force, will convene a Parent Engagement Conference on Saturday, April 11, 2015 from 8:30am – 1:00pm at Piper High School. This event, The 411 on Parent Engagement, will feature valuable information and resources, as well as a Non-Profit Fair to connect principals and other school leaders with organizations and businesses eager to support schools, students and their families.
Dione Christy, Ph.D., Independent Principal Consultant, Massachusetts State Department of Education, will be the keynote speaker. Ms. Christy will also facilitate a session for principals on the topic of maximizing community resources, and the principals will have a private opportunity to shop with their colleagues at the Fair to match non-profit services with their individual school needs.
Parents, teachers, guidance counselors, and other school staff are encouraged to attend this conference. Attendees will learn about the new Office of Parent Engagement and find out how the office will support and engage schools, students, and families.
